In this particular project, the creative team approached us, the Product Designers, with an incredible concept for Getty Images—a mini-series that tells the story of a man awakening from a coma, using only stock footage from Getty.

We designed an immersive interface that allowed users to experience the protagonist’s thoughts, environmental sounds, and conversations happening around him as he gradually emerged from the coma.

 
 


The interface was crafted to enhance user interaction and deepen immersion in the storyline. We also integrated features for purchasing the stock images used in the narrative. The image gallery was designed with a free-form hold-and-scroll functionality, reflecting how our minds wander without following a straight path.

SPOILER ALERT I also contributed to the plot twist: the doctor, whose voice is heard throughout the story, is revealed to be the son of the man in the coma.

 
 


The visual design of the experience was inspired by the mini-series itself, ensuring that every element contributed to a captivating and immersive storytelling experience.
